Star Trek (also known as Star Trek or Star Trek XI 2009) (now known as the reboot of the Star Trek film series) is a science fiction film directed by J. J. Abrams, written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, and produced by Damon Lindelof and Bryan Burk. It is the eleventh film franchise based on Star Trek created by Gene Roddenberry, and it has the main characters in Star Trek: The Original Series, represented by a new cast. Explore previous stories James T. Kirk (Chris Pine) and Spock (Zachary Quinto), before joining the board the Enterprise to fight Nero (Eric Bana), a Romulan’s future threat to the United Federation of Planets. This film was released on April 7, 2009 at the Opera House in Sydney, Australia, but its premiere in conventional theaters was conducted between 7 and 26 May 2009 depending on the country and the June 5, 2009 in Mexico as delayed due to the pandemic of influenza A (H1N1), 2009.

The development of Star Trek began in 2005 when Paramount Pictures hired Abrams, Orci and Kurtzman to revive the franchise. They wanted to be faithful to the canon of Star Trek, but also introduced elements of his favorite novels, changing the story with time travel, and modernizing the production design of the original series to make it attractive to the public. The filming took place from November 2007 until April 2008 under extreme secrecy. At the same time shooting the film, Paramount decided to delay changing the release date of December 25, 2008, to May 8, 2009.

The purpose of the film is a kind of reboot of the franchise (respecting the original continuity), which will recount the adventures of Kirk, Spock and the Enterprise crew as a new film franchise free creatively.
